Upgrading and downgrading your mServer

In order to upgrade or downgrade your mServer, choose option Manage from the mServer section inside your homepage. 

 In the page displayed next, click the hostname of the mServer you wish to modify.

The page for managing that server will be displayed where you should click Upgrade.

The page for changing your server specification will be displayed.

You can change any of the following parameters/options:

  • RAM - the option for increasing or decreasing the amount of RAM memory for your mServer
  • CPU - the option for increasing or decreasing the number of CPU 
  • Disk size - the option for increasing or decreasing the disk size (note: reducing the disk space is not recommended before creating a backup first as it may result in lost of data)
  • Port Speed - the option for increasing or decreasing the port speed
  • IP Addresses - the option for adding new IP addresses or reducing the number of current addresses
  • Backup Space - the option for specifying the desired backup space
  • Upload - the option for changing the upload speed (you can either increase or decrease the speed)
  • Download - the option for changing the upload speed (you can either increase or decrease the speed)
To change any of the values, use the slider and move it to the right to increase the resourses or to the left to decrease them.
 
Note: for resources such as RAM or CPU, the change will be automatically applied after the payment has been made.

In case of increasing the resources

After increasing resources, the page paying for the additional service will be displayed.
 
 
Choose the desired payment method and click Submit to continue with the payment procedure (see sections Paying with a credit card and Paying with an invoice.
 
Note: Downgrading will automatically reduce your virtual machine resources, which may result in data loss!
 
 
Increasing the disk size
 
After making the payment for the service of increasing the disk size, open the main page of your server and click Storage
 
 
 
The page for managing disks will be dispalyed.
 
 
Click Edit next to the disk you wish to change.
 
 
 
 
Move the slider to the right to set the desired new disk size and click Save Changes. The following confirmation dialog will be displayed.
 
 
 
Click OK to confirm. Your virtual machine will be restarted so make sure you do this change during your slow hours.
 

In case of decreasing resources

In case you decide to decrease the resources, i.e. downgrade your server, the page informing you that you will have credits left for the next payment period will be displayed.

 

Click Submit to complete the procedure.

Note:

  • all changes will be immediately applied
  • in order to avoid the loss of data, please create a backup of your server prior to reducing disk space.
