Creating an FTP account

An FTP account is necessary so you could transfer files to your server. You can create un unlimited number of FTP accounts and assign different directories which those will be used to access. This is useful because you can limit access to a certain directory for each of your employees.

In order to start creating a new FTP account, choose FTP Accounts from the File Management section.

 

The following page will be displayed. 

 

The following parameters are available:

  • Username – enter the username for the FTP account
  • Password – enter the password for the FTP account
  • Access type – opcije za podešavanje prava za FTP nalog
    • Read-only – choose this option if you only want to alllow reading of the information (without the possibility to change anything)
    • Write only – this option is not currently used
    • Full access – choose this option to allow full access to this FTP account, i,.e both reading and changing information and files
  • Home directory – choose the directory this FTP account will be able to access
    • Create a new home directory – option for creating a new home directory
    • Set Master home directory – set the Master home directory
    • Use domain directory – if you choose this option this FTP account will have access to the main root directory for the chosen domain

After setting these parameters, click Create. The new FTP account will be created.

 

Notes:

  • The following parameters should be used for creating an FTP connection:
    • Host: enter the IP address of your server (alternatively, you can enter the name of your domain and add the ftp prefix, e.g. ftp.myserver.com)
    • Username – enter the username you have defined for this FTP account
    • Password – enter the password you have defined for this FTP account
    • Port – 21
    • Transfer settings – izaberite Active
  • Recommended FTP client is FileZilla
