Adding a new alias

Mail server allows you to create aliases which will be used for forwarding incoming messages to other email addresses. In order to start creating a new alias, choose option Add Alias from the Virtual List menu.

 

The following page will be displayed.

 

The following parameters are available:

  • Alias - enter the desired username for the email address that you wiish to use anas alias, i.e an email address which will be used to receive and forward emails to the email address (or multiple addresses you define)
    • important note: you also have the option of using the catch-all option i.e. one alias which will receive all emails sent to a domain but to non-existant users (for example: if someone sends you an email to potato@mysite.rs where your domain is mysite.rs but you don't have the user potato, this message will be sent to the catch-all; in order to define a catch-all alias, enter only an asterisk in to the alias field
  • Menu for choosing the domain - choose the domain for your alias
  • To - enter one or more email addresses (one per row) which will be used for forwarding email messages
  • Active - this field is ticked by default meaning that the alias will be active upon its creation
After defining the desired parameters, click Add Alias and the new alias will be added. A message about the successfully added alias will be added.
